The Little Wylye Brewery

At the Bell Inn, Wylye

Our nano brewery has now been up and running for over a year. We craft our very own ales on a weekly basis, meaning every batch is completely original. We utilize English grains throughout all of our beers so our pints are a direct reflection of the wonderful produce produced by English farmers. Look out for our regular selection listed bellow and some seasonal specials available on tap throughout the year in both Wylye & Stockton.

Keeping it simple & local

What is a Gallybagger? A good question! All our ales are named after local folk stories, many of whom feature in Kirsty Hartsiotis’ book Wiltshire Folk Tales (available to purchase at most English heritage sites across the county and on amazon kindle), tales which you will also find detailed in the pub!

In keeping with the theme, our beers are brewed from grains milled at Warminster Maltings, England’s oldest working maltings, whose fascinating history is well documented at https://www.warminster-malt.co.uk/history/

Many of our brews are derived from old traditional recipes which call for small batch brewing with as little chemical intervention as possible; the result is a delightfully playful pint that truly celebrates the unique flavors extracted from seasonal maltings that vary slightly throughout the year, while the lack of clearing additives ensure all our ales are suitable for a vegan & veggie diet.
